Carol D. Vesey

February 15, 1936 — September 10, 2021

Carol D. Vesey, 85, passed away peacefully on September 10th after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease, and is now happily reunited with her husband of 59 years, John. Carol is survived by her daughter Patricia Gary and husband Mark of Longwood, Florida, and her son Gregory Vesey and wife Karla of Sugar Land, Texas, along with 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Barbara McGuinness and Judith Turner, both of New York, and was preceded in death by her brother Theodore Huffman.

Carol was born in Jamaica, New York, on February 15, 1936, to Theodore Huffman and Charlotte Rings. Early in her career, she was a proud member of the FBI, working in the New York City office. In 1956, she and John were married at St. Clare's Church in Rosedale, New York and set-up residence in New York. John and Carol relocated to Fort Walton Beach in 1967. In Fort Walton, she worked as Office Manager of the Nelson P. Davis Construction Company for over thirty years and became life-long friends of the Davis family. She retired in 2010 and moved to the Orlando area in 2015.

Carol was a lovely and gracious lady and she enjoyed life on the Emerald Coast. She had numerous external interests including many years of fellowship with her Beta Sigma Phi, Chapter Beta Mu Master Sorority sisters. She was also active with the National Secretaries Association, The Red Hat Society, and with John as members of the Krewe of Bowlegs. Carol was a great cook, loved to travel, and was an avid reader. Nothing was more important to Carol than family and friends; she especially enjoyed time spent with her grandkids and great-grandkids. We will all miss her dearly.

No formal services are planned, and in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association so this horrible disease can be defeated.
