Carol Ann Ziesig, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on February 20, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born to the late Samuel Piacente and Mary (Zigrossi) Piacente on November 18, 1946, in North Tonawanda, NY.
Carol was a beautiful soul who loved and lit the world. She was friendly and outgoing, good natured and kind. She truly enjoyed helping others and always found a way to do so, with work, with friendship, with guidance, or with an ear to listen. Carol never met a stranger and would befriend you in an instant. She was stubborn and determined with an Italian temper that few got to see, but when it shown was quite the sight. In some ways, she was a contradiction.
Carol met Donald, the love of her life, at a gumball machine in a New York dance club and they went on to marry in 1967 and started their family in North Tonawanda, NY. From there, they moved to Dayton, Ohio. Following her love of travel, and after a couple of magical vacations to Florida, the family relocated to Orlando in 1980. She grew up loving music and sang in the choir at St. Mary Magdalen for years. Her love of travel took the family on vacations to Europe, Florida, the Grand Canyon, and on cruises to the Bahamas, Mexico, Alaska, and Europe. She loved Disney, and living so close to the theme parks, and even celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary with a family visit to the parks. Carol cared for all animals, but in particular loved spending time with her dachshunds Dobbie, Junior, and Jewel.
Carol was passionate about her interests and managed to find her way into working in areas she loved. She was entrepreneurial and the ultimate people person. She started a company selling office supplies, was a beautician, a travel agent, a Mary Kay Team Leader, and most recently a realtor and property manager.
Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was born into a large extended family and was never happier than when we were all together for birthdays, holidays, or an average Friday night family meal. As a mother, she was absolutely supportive. She loved to talk to us. It didn't matter how small a moment it was in our lives; she would listen in a way that made each of us sure they were the most important person to her.
Carol is survived by her loving children, Jim Ziesig, David Ziesig, and Janice Ziesig, and her grandchildren, Mackenzy, Carlisle, Joshua, and Rebecca. She is preceded in death by Donald Ziesig, her loving husband of 56 years, her parents, and her brother Richard Piacente. Her bright and loving presence will be greatly missed.
