Peters, Carolyn Jones, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 21. She was born in Taylorsville, IL on April 24, 1936 to Frank and June Jones. She attended Southern Illinois University after graduating valedictorian from Zeigler, IL High School. In 1954 she met Roger Peters from Chicago, IL on her first weekend at Southern at the registration dance. They were married two years later on September 15, 1956. They both graduated from Southern in 1958. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her careers included being a certified professional secretary and a licenced condominium association manager. She also managed a large Methodist church and served as assistant to the county manager in Okaloosa County, FL for seven years. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Florida Genealogical Society. She was also a member of Woodbury Presbyterian Church. She will be greatly missed by Roger, her husband of over 52 years; her son Mark (Lora); daughter Tracy Trocki (Jack); grandchildren, Monica, Joshua, P.J. (Meloni) and Gabrielle; her great-grandchild Emma; her sister, Marsha Maserang of Victorville, CA; brother-in-law Gordon Peters (Sandy) of Suwanne, GA; sister-in-law, Marilyn Fales (John) of Libertyville, IL. Visitation will be held from 7pm-9pm Thursday, April 23 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando. Interment will be at Palm Cemetery in Winter Park. A memorial service will be held at 2pm Friday, April 24 at Woodbury Presbyterian Church, 1501 Woodbury Road, Orlando. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Woodbury Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
