Carolyn Overton Robinson, 87, of Orlando, FL passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024, in Orlando, FL. She was born in Nashville, TN, on June 4, 1936, to the late Robert B. Overton and Sara Overton.
Carolyn was a precious sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She loved Jesus, and it showed in every aspect of her life. She loved Bible Study Fellowship, and served as an adult leader and also a director for the Children's Ministry. She played basketball in High School and was the captain of the team her Senior Year. She also played on the Bay Hill Country Club tennis team in Orlando.
She is survived by her husband, Bob L. Robinson, her children Richard Robinson (Rick), Leigh Ann Rush (Bill), and Lynne Phillips (Scott). Carolyn was a cherished grandmother to Whitney Rush Crawford (Andrew) and Emily Rush Lockhart (Andrew) and a wonderful great-grandmother to Jack, Palmer, Anderson, Rollins, Tyler, and Caroline. She is also survived by her sister Gayle Taylor (Robert), and brother, Bob Overton (Patrice), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Carolyn worked primarily at home raising her children and also had several part-time jobs at different medical offices over the years. She was a dedicated member of Brentwood Baptist Church in Brentwood, TN, First Baptist Church in Orlando, FL, and most recently, First Baptist Church in Winter Park, FL, where she was involved in Vacation Bible School, as well as many other children's programs.
Her hobbies included Bible Study leadership, Sunday School teaching, tennis, and cooking.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at First Baptist Church, Winter Park, FL, at 2pm with reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations by made to First Baptist Church, Winter Park.
