Casto Ashburn

It is with great sadness that the family of Casto Ashburn Jr announces his passing on March 5, 2025.

Casto was known to his family and friends as Jr.

Jr was born on January 27,1940 to Casto James Ashburn and Mary “Goldie” DeRossett in Crossville, Tennessee. He was second child, oldest son of 14 children. He moved from Tennessee to Kissimmee Florida in his teens.

Jr married Rita “Joan” Ashburn on January 1961. They had 2 children. Susan F. Pickron (James “Ed” Pickron) and Richard E. Ashburn ( Renee Nelson). Jr was a wonderful husband and father.

Jr worked as an Appliance tech, HVAC tech, Bus mechanic and Maintenance tech.

Jr has 4 grandchildren. Letha Huang, Christopher Ashburn, Emily Pickron, and Rebecca Ashburn.

He also has 2 great grandchildren, Arya and Luke.

Jr has requested no services to be held. He was an avid dog lover. In leu of flowers please consider donating to the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando (Sanford location) where Jr adopted his dog Rocky.
