Catherine Ann Artrip
Cathy Artrip, age 88, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Monday, April 5th, 2022. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 12, 1933, to Thomas and Grace Reddy. Cathy was widowed by her spouse John Artrip of 10 years in 1994.
Cathy graduated from Bayside High School in Brooklyn in 1951. She later continued to receive her nursing degree from Orlando Vocational Technical School in 1979. She worked a devoted career as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Orlando Regional Medical Center for 20 years. However, many say her true calling from God was to be a loving mother to her six children.
Cathy had many passions including gardening, reading, and membership in the Red Hat Society. She was an avid pet lover and enjoyed companionship with her dogs.
She was a dedicated member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Orlando, Florida where she served in several volunteer leadership positions including heading the church food pantry. This food pantry provided meals for over 300 families monthly. Cathy also served on the evangelism committee and led a team of ushers and greeters for the Contemporary worship service. Cathy also volunteered for several other causes within the church including assisting with activities for Vacation Bible School. Her passion for volunteerism was certainly a calling from God that she fulfilled with a smile on her face.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Reddy and Grace Reddy; brother Thomas Reddy; sister Grace Martino; her oldest son, James Thomas Jeffrey; former husband and father of her six children, James Jeffrey Jr.; and husband, John Artrip.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Her 4 sons Joseph Jeffrey, Thomas Jeffrey, Bruce Jeffrey, and Brian Jeffrey; as well as her daughter Betty Wambold; and brother Michael Reddy. She also had 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of friends from her church.
Memorial services will be Sunday, April 10th, 2022 at 4:00 PM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1515 South Semoran Blvd, Orlando, Florida 32807. Immediately following will be a catered reception at the church for those wishing to fellowship in Cathy's memory.
