Charles "Scotty" Patrick Scott, Sr., loving husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by loved ones, on the morning of Wednesday, November 4th, 2020 at age 78.
Charles was known affectionately by an assortment of names, including Scotty, Charles Pat, Charlie Pat, Pat, Charlie, Chuck, Great Uncle Chuck, Dad, and Grampy—which made for a unique challenge in signing of Christmas cards. He was born in 1942 to Myrtle Virginia and Charles Edward Scott in the small town of Machias, Maine. In 1959 he joined the United States Air Force when he was just seventeen years old. After having served 20 years, he retired as a Master Sergeant. He then began work for Lockheed Arabia in 1981. He met Viv in Jeddah, and they were married in 1988. They then moved to Florida in 1993, where he spent the rest of his life.
Scotty was known to all as a loving, generous soul. He was a lover of children, dogs, and adventure. There was little that excited him more than preparing for a trip or a cruise with Viv. Although he got to experience things that many only dream of, he was a content man who was happy just to sip drinks by the pool or eat a bowl of "Chop Suey" (beefaroni) made by his sister Betty. He is beloved by all who knew him and will be spoken of for generations to come.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Vivienne (Viv); his sisters Donna and Betty; two of his sons, Charles, Jr. and James; and his six grandchildren, Nicholas, Victoria, Nittaya, Thomas, Donald, and Nichole. He was predeceased by his son, Paul, and his brother, Percy.
Charles P. Scott, Sr. will be honored with a private memorial service with full military honors.
