Chaz was a graduate of Oshkosh West High School, Class of 1991, Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He earned his Bachelor of Interpersonal Communication from the University of Central Florida in 1997. He went on to earn a Master of Divinity at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2000. After Seminary, he served in college ministry as the college pastor and created various videos and designed sets to aid in services at Parkway Baptist Church.
He began his career at The Walt Disney World Company in 2007. He celebrated his 15-year anniversary in 2022. He was the first Graphic Designer in the Disney Live Entertainment Broadcast Production department. Chaz's vision for graphics led to the creation of the broadcasting graphics department and multiple job opportunities for his team. He loved his coworkers, calling them the "most talented group" he had ever known. He was proud of the "Burton Glint" and knew it would live on in future WDW projects.
Chaz's greatest joy was being a husband to Lori and father to Nevin, Colbe, and Zayne. He was a committed husband and father, who never missed an opportunity to find joy and laughter in any situation. As parents, he and Lori found purpose in living intentionally and "Burtonizing" every turn and bump in the journey of life. He also loved making videos and taking pictures of their adventures. More than anything Chaz loved Jesus and wanted his boys to grow up to be strong men of integrity and deep faith. In his battles with his many health issues, he was an inspiration to his family, friends, and coworkers. His faith never wavered and was evident to all who knew his story. His mission in life was to show people that God is good no matter what the circumstances are, no matter what the hardship is, no matter what the ending may be.
