Cheryl "Cheri" Barton, age 71, passed away on January 31, 2023. Cheri was born on April 3, 1951, in Orlando, FL.
Cheri began her adult life by going to nursing school and becoming an RN. Her nursing career started at Orange Memorial in 1972, later to become ORMC. After 10 years at ORMC she went on to work for an OB/GYN in a private office. However, in 1989 Cheri found her way back to the Orlando Health team when they opened Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Women. In 2006 she moved over to the new Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and remained there until she retired in 2016. She loved her time with her fellow nurses and so many of the doctors they supported.
As Cheri neared retirement, she picked up a love for the game of golf. Needless to say, once retired it became her favorite pastime and she could be found on the course an average of 4 times per week. She enjoyed the game, the people she played with and the friendships she made.
Cheri also enjoyed traveling with her girlfriends both domestic and abroad. Some of her favorite trips were to Ireland, Niagara Falls and a Mediterranean cruise.
When not on the golf course or travelling Cheri dedicated her time to helping her family. Self-proclaimed "Uber Nana" she shuttled her grandkids around town for each of their activities.
Cheri is preceded in death by her husband E. Lee Barton, Jr. She is survived by her daughters Kami Rubino and Britney Wolfe-Scribner and son-in-law Scott Scribner and her grandchildren Harley, Addison, Jordyn and Cooper.
Cheri will be missed terribly by her family and friends but will live on forever in their hearts and memories.
