Christine J. Hodges, 81 of Christmas, Florida passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2014.
Christine was born on February 17, 1933 in Palakta, Florida to Loren and Harriet (Morse) Johns who have both preceded her in death. In 1951, she married her loving husband, Ropert F. Hodges and relocated to Christmas where she lived the rest of her life. Ropert passed away in 2005 after 53 years of marriage. Christine was also preceded in death by her son, Edward Lee Hodges. She retired from Publix Supermarkets after 34 years of service and then went to work as a cafeteria worker for Orange County Public Schools at Columbia Elementary School in Bithlo. She was an active member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Christmas. She loved serving her church and church family. She was also very active in the community of Christmas.
Christine is survived by her daughters, Linda H. Roess and Wanda H. Kight; sons-in-law, Clark F. Roess and Gregory A. Kight; sisters, Edith Burney and Nadine Head; grandchildren, Eric Hodges, Jason Belcher, Angela Hodges, Kara Hodges and Lottie Kight and great grandchildren, Brianna Hodges, Krista Holst, Matthew Miller, Desiree Hodges, J.D. Belcher, Lane Hodges and Levi Belcher.
