Christopher James Grajeda

Christopher James Grajeda, 34, died unexpectedly at his home in Dayton, Ohio on Sunday, September 24, 2023.

Chris was brought into this world on March 31, 1989 at March Air Force Base Hospital in Riverside, California. He was handed over to his blessed parents, Jose H. Grajeda, Jr. & Wendy M. Johnston.

When Chris was five years old, he moved to the Rockfish community in Hoke County, NC. He spent most of his childhood there, making numerous friends. He graduated from Hoke High in 2007 and later studied culinary arts and worked in a variety of restaurants over the years.

Hanging out with his friends was Chris' favorite thing to do. He also enjoyed playing cards and learning new games. Chris' most recognizable feature was his full head of curly red hair.

Chris believed his greatest and most meaningful accomplishment was being a loving father to his son Mateo James. Chris was an easy going fun loving guy, who will be missed by us all!

Christopher is survived by his father, Jose H. Grajeda,Jr. and his wife, Yolima, of Orlando; his mother, Wendy Grajeda of Fayetteville, NC; his son, Mateo James Grajeda; two brothers, Joseph Grajeda and his wife, Jhosbely, and Isaac Grajeda; his sister, Anna Grajeda; a niece, Isabella Rose Grajeda; his paternal grandmother, Hilda Grajeda; and his maternal grandmother, Juanita Johnston.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jose Grajeda; and maternal grandfather, Lawrence A. Johnston.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 4545 Anderson Rd, Orlando, FL 32812.

Visitation with the family will take place on Saturday, October 7 at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
