Claire Harris was a true inspiration to us all with the courage and grace with which she handled her four year battle with dystonia. Claire actually relinquished her hold on life as a result of a fast and extremely intense onslaught of Stevens Johnson Syndrome. God took Claire into His loving arms and heavenly home at 2:47pm on September 7th, 2006.
On August 7, 1930, Claire was born in Costa Rica. She lived in Jamaica for a period of years, and then migrated to the United States where she became a citizen of this country which she loved dearly.
Claire ("Tia") was preceded in death by her father and mother, three brothers, and one sister.
"Tia" leaves many loved ones, both family and friends, to cherish her beautiful memories, including her son Luis Fernando Harris, daughter Jacqueline Marie Harris, and daughter-in-law Yvonne Michelle Harris; grandchildren Moniquea, Saied and Aaaqil; nephew Francisco; nieces with their families – Maria Lourdes, Maria Consuelo, Maria, Yamilette, Sonia, Sandra and Georgette. Claire had many friends and loved them all dearly.
A memorial service to celebrate the life and love of Claire E. Harris will be held at Christ The King Church, 26 Willow Drive, Orlando, Florida 32807 on September 18, 2006 at 11:00am. Interment immediately follows in the church gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for forwarding to a foundation in Claire Harris' name and memory for further research and treatment of Dystonia. A gathering of family and friends will be held after interment.
