Cleveland Gaillard, son of the late Tony and Martha Gaillard was born on December 12th 1945 in Charleston, South Carolina. He departed this life on Sunday April 30th 2017. Cleveland was educated in the Charleston County public school system where he met and married his late wife Blondell Stokes. Of this union, they had four daughters.
Cleveland moved his family to New York in 1966 to make a better life. While he worked at the New York Presbyterian Hospital as a house keeping supervisor, he attended Lehman College for which he achieved several certifications in his line of work. He became a member of Mount Hebron Apostolic Temple along with his family and was baptized in Jesus name, filled with the Holy Ghost.
Cleveland and his wife moved to Florida after his retirement where they enjoyed traveling. He loved to watch movies mainly from the 70's, tennis, soccer and never missed a UFC Fight Night. He spent time cooking and seasoning crabs and loved hot dogs, which were his favorite foods . He also had a great love for animals, especially dogs. He was quite, yet a man of passion with a strong sense of humor which includes playing practical jokes.
He leaves to cherish his memory: four daughters, Maria Hinton (Curtis), Shannel Hogue (Melvin), Sonja Gaillard, Connie Jacobo (Luis); one brother, Pledger Gaillard; two sisters, Helen Edwards and Barbra Sanders (Kenny); ten grandchildren, Barry Elliot, Brittany Hinton, Luis Jacobo III, Jasmine Bannister, Kerwin K Jacobo, Angelica Hogue-Carlson (Eric), Curtis B. Hinton, Sharmane Hogue, Cory A. Hinton and Melvin Ray Hogue II; one great grandchild, Khalia Jacobo and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Cleveland is proceeded in death by his wife Blondell Gaillard; his parents Tony and Martha Gaillard; two brothers Samuel Brown and Willie Brown; three sisters Marie Hollington, Loretta Victoria and Elizabeth Stanton.
