Connie Bozard passed away peacefully July 10, at Health Central Park where she had been a patient for a few weeks. Connie was born in Saluda, South Carolina on January 24, 1921. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Johnny Bozard, and their daughter, Marie Hamrick. Survivors include son, John W. Bozard (Ann) Orlando, daughter, Jan Latour (Eddie) Clearwater, and son-in-law, Jeff Hamrick Umatilla. She had five grandchildren; Kari Bozard Russo (David), Jaaron Bozard Pettit (Dan), Alyse Latour Barger (Ben), Brittany Latour Smith (Alex) and Jason Hamrick (Jennifer) and 11 great-grandchildren.
Connie moved to DeLand, Florida with her family in 1962 and lived there until she and Johnny retired and moved to Orlando in 1986. She was employed by Volusia County Schools and served as the Office Manager at George Marks Elementary School for 20 years. A lifelong Baptist, Connie was always involved in her local church where she served as an active member of First Baptist Church/Deland, and later First Baptist Church/Orlando. Connie was happiest spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends and family were of great importance to her as evidenced by the thousands of cards, handwritten notes and texts that she often sent and received. Connie was giving, kind, humble and encouraging; and a true blessing to so many people. She will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
