Cynthia Hazel Melear, 52 of Orlando passed away on February 20, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with Breast Cancer. She was born on October 12, 1954 in Tacoma Park, Maryland as the daughter of George and Hazel Hazel. Cindy is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 25 years, Erik L. Melear, her three children, Jennifer, Justine and Evan, her sisters, Marlene Dupree and Sue Hale. Cindy graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S.N. in 1977 and the College of Law with honors in 2002. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2004. She extended her hand and touched many hearts in the community one person at a time. She worked in various capacities as a psychiatric nurse and risk manager at Florida Hospital and manager of the Occupational Health Clinic for the City of Orlando. Cindy has had a rewarding and fulfilling life. She has left a mark in time for many by creating cherished memories. She is most loved cherished by many and forgotten by none.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Conway First Baptist Church, 4000 S. Conway Road, Orlando. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Sunday at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando. Interment will be held at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando.
