Dale Ann Bamann
September 26, 1926 — June 10, 2024
Dale Ann (McGraw) Bamann, 97, of Pittsford, NY, and Orlando, FL, sadly left us on June 10, 2024. Dale was born to Marion A. and John L. McGraw on September 26, 1926 in Rochester, NY. She was their only child and was immensely treasured.
Dale was preceded in death by her first husband, William E. Sullivan; her father, John L. McGraw; her mother, Marion A. McGraw; her second husband, Arthur (Bud) Bamann; and most recently, her daughter, Sheila (Sullivan) Schiemer.
She is survived by her sons: William E. Sullivan (Linda) of Woodbridge, VA; John M. Sullivan (Diane) of Orlando, FL; and Michael J. Bamann (Carol Ziegler) of Pittsford, NY. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Upon graduation from Brighton H.S., Dale went on to work for the Rochester Phone Company. Then she went on to meet her first husband, William Sullivan of Elmira, NY. After the unexpected passing of William (Bill), she later met and married Arthur (Bud) Bamann. With that union, they became a family of nine and later ten with the addition of Michael.
We will remember her for so many things: pretzels in a jar, sugar cookies in a tin, boat shoes by the door, and her love of wild birds which she welcomed to her many backyard feeders. Step inside Dale’s home and there you would see framed photos of the family surrounding her. She could be found knitting hats, mittens, sweaters and beautiful baby afghans for the newest arrivals. Family was everything to Dale. She will always remain in our hearts.
All are welcome to attend the funeral mass which will be held on Thursday, August 8, 10am, at St. Thomas More Church, 2617 East Avenue, Rochester, NY 14610.
Following the funeral, public interment at 11:30am, White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford, NY 14534. Meet in the parking lot for procession.
Then join us for a Reception at 12pm. Location to be announced at funeral and internment.
