Dana Roy Tucker, 69, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020 in Deltona, Florida surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 28, 1950 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
In his early life he grew up in Texas with his parents, Lola and Clarence, and his two siblings, Julian and Sharon Tucker.
Dana attended North Texas State University, where he achieved his bachelors degree and traveled the world as an electrical engineer. Later, he married Phyllis Taliaferro, and raised his two children, Misty Catherine and Charles Dana Tucker.
In 1988, Dana married the love of his life: Mary Margaret Tucker. Together, with their blended families including Misty, Charles, and Jamie Lee Glover, they moved to Apopka, Florida in 1989.
Dana achieved his associates in computer technical science and then went on to work at Calvert Manufacturing for twenty years. During this time, he was blessed with four grandchildren: Neva Ottaviano, Morgan Miller, Faith Wolbert, and Shayla Gibson. In 2005, Dana, Mary and their family moved to Deltona, Florida. In 2011, Dana went to work for the state as a computer engineer and soon after, they purchased their forever home.
In 2014, Dana was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. After multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation treatments, he went into remission from 2017-2019. He was re-diagnosed in 2019, with multiple myeloma. After a long fight, he lost his battle with cancer. Dana enjoyed watching
NCIS, Supernatural, fishing, art, and smoking his pipe. Dana will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him and will remain in our hearts forever.
Dana is survived by his loving wife, Mary Tucker; mother, Lola D. Tucker; son, Charles Tucker; daughter, Jamie Wolbert; four granddaughters and one grandson-in-law; his sister, Sharon Baine; and two great-grandsons, due in September 2020.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Tucker; brother, Julian Tucker; and daughter, Misty Tucker.
Friends and family are welcome to gather at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - South Seminole Chapel on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 12:00 pm, with a memorial service in Dana's honor beginning at 1:00 pm.
