Daniel Sanchez Wemiz, age 54, of Longwood, Florida passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021. He was born in Juarez, Mexico on January 4, 1967, the third eldest of 5 children, to parents Rafael and Elba (Sanchez) Wemiz.
Daniel moved to the Mission District of San Francisco in 1975 and attended Burnett Elementary and Visitacion Valley Middle School. He excelled in sports playing football and basketball; including short stop and second baseman for Mission High School. As an adult, he was a yearly All-Star playing short stop and second baseman with various Latin leagues including the Fernando Valenzuela, Nicaraguan, and the Bay Area Men's Senior Baseball League.
As a music lover, he was a DJ for over 30 years serving the San Francisco, Alameda, and San Joaquin counties. During that time he was also in restaurant management. He then transitioned to work in supply chain management as a Lead Logistics Coordinator in South San Francisco. He enjoyed miniature golf, watching boxing matches, and attending San Francisco Giants, 49ers, and Golden State Warriors games.
He is survived by his wife, Ana Fa'osi'i Wemiz; three sons, Daniel Anthony (Marissa) Wemiz, Andres Rafael Wemiz, Ricardo Joseph Wemiz; three grandsons, Vincent George Wemiz, Oliver James Wemiz, Dexter Ryan Wemiz; three sisters, Julia Wemiz, Elena Mayora, Nohemi (Osbaldo) Higareda; three brothers, Rafael Wemiz, Miguel (Lisa) Wemiz, Gerardo (Brenda) Wemiz. He leaves behind his beloved feline companion, Deja. He is also survived by his extended family, nieces and nephews, lifelong friends, and supportive coworkers.
