Dannie Edrel Rich

Dannie Edrel Rich was born on May 22, 1949 to Glenn and Hettie Rich in Moss, Tennessee. He resided in Kokomo, Indiana for most of his childhood and young adult life then moved to West Lafayette, Indiana to raise a family. In 1996, he moved to Sarasota, FL before eventually settling in Orlando, FL for the last 16 years of his life.
A graduate of Kokomo High School, Dan worked for over 20 years at Sears in various management positions in Kokomo and Lafayette, IN. He worked at Kirby Risk in Lafayette and Sun Honda in Sarasota before he became a proud Walt Disney World Cast Member in Orlando, FL. He worked at the Disney Sports Complex, Security and at Disney's Magical Express at the airport all together for over 15 years.
Dan is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rosemary Kling Rich, whom he married on March 27, 1970. Also surviving are his 2 daughters: Rochelle Rich Goldberg (husband Robert Goldberg) and Amy Rich Chastain (husband Kevin Chastain) all of Orlando, FL. Dan is survived by Donna Rich of Kokomo, Indiana, 4 grandchildren: Cole, Reagan, Harrison, and Reid Chastain of Orlando, FL and 4 siblings: Fred Rich (wife Rosalie) of Trabuco Canyon, California, Loetha McDonald (husband Anthony McDonald) and Deleta Covey (husband Bud Covey) both of Kokomo, IN and Tim Rich (wife Connie Rich) of Denton, Texas.
Dan was passionate about his faith, his family, serving others, meeting everyone he could, motorcycles and golf. He was always involved in his children's sports activities at Battle Ground Elementary and Summer Recreation and at Harrison High School in West Lafayette, IN. He more recently was an active volunteer caddy, equipment manager and the biggest fan of his grandchildren's budding golf interests. Dan had an impact on everyone he encountered through his demonstrated humor, heart for people and his overall character.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws; Everett and Pat Kling if Bunker Hill, IN and sister Glennana Rich.
A memorial visitation and service will be held at Eller's Funeral Home in Kokomo, IN on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, please consider a donation to The First Tee of Central Florida. This organization provides golf skills training for children but more importantly, they provide value development, life skills and healthy habits to create champions off the course in in life just like Dan did to his children and grandchildren.
