David E. Hart, 63, of Orlando, FL passed away suddenly on January 7, 2018 at his home in Orlando. He was born March 7, 1954 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Bass fishing was one of the many simple pleasures he enjoyed. As a young man, he was drawn to construction; excelling as a master carpenter, then spending the last 40 years of his career as a project superintendent. He was passionate about playing the drums, especially to the tune of a good Steely Dan song. After retirement, he made many lifelong friends at his favorite hang-out, Friendly Confines, where "everybody knows your name." David was known for his strong character and gentle demeanor, but never swaying in his ideals and beliefs. His family was his heart. We were all better for having had this special man in our lives, even if it was too short.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Susan, one daughter, Jennifer Pickard (Brian), and sister Rebecca Ferguson (John). David is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Ada Hart.
Services will be held January 14th at Newcomer Funeral Home (895 S Goldenrod Rd, Orlando, FL 32822). Visitation for family and friends will begin at 12 p.m. with a service to follow at 12:30 p.m.
