David Rivera of Orlando, Florida, passed away on Saturday, March 6th, 2021, in Orlando at the age of 45. Born to Violeta (Crespo) Rivera and Rafael Rivera in Hoboken, New Jersey, on July 1st, 1975, David Rivera would shortly move on to live his formative years in the Bronx, New York, until the age of 8. After losing his biological parents, David moved to Rochester, New York, to live with his loving aunt Lucy C Lago and Angel Manuel Lago, who raised him from that moment forward as their son.
In adoring memory, David Rivera is survived by Lucy C Lago (mother), Evelyn Ramos (sister), Madeline Ramos (sister) and her sons Edwin and Anthony, Raul Ramos Jr. (brother) and his children Ricky, Kimberly, and Samuel, Nancy Barrett (sister), her daughters Victoria, Ebony, and Chayla, Nancy's husband Patrick, and Joyce Rivera (sister) and her children Roy, Jhericka, and Mariah. David Rivera also has a whole host of cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, family members, and dear friends that all hold David close to our hearts.
Before transitioning from this Earth to his peaceful destiny into the protection of our Creator, David Rivera never stopped putting his time and energy into people. He spent many years of his life working in the hospital environment, a place that needed his joyful smile and magnetic personality the most. This is a man who put your needs before his own, even when he was in need, with a giving heart pumping with unlimited love.
Whether it was the life-long friendships he made with his energic breakdancing abilities under the stage name 'Motion,' or his talent for expressing his deepest feelings as a hip hop artist, David Rivera transformed friends into family instantly. David's legacy is one of unbelievable courage and strength, overcoming the loss of his parents and having the inner desire to turn pain into power, loss into love, curiosity into creativity, and ideas into inspiration.
As an open-minded man who loved people of every color, culture, and creed, David also had an open mind for learning. This curiosity included his vast knowledge of computer technology and the internet way before they became our everyday experience. His laser-focus started at a young age. David brilliantly pulled appliances apart as a child and rebuilt them just to see how they worked. This same motivation pushed David towards becoming a self-taught stock investor in his final years. But for David Rivera, his enthusiastic journey of learning included sharing everything he knew with those he loved. He wanted all of us to win in the game of life.
In tribute to David Rivera's intensely caring spirit that we were blessed to have had in our lives, we remember him as the righteous teacher that elevated our thoughts, the protective man that loved us to his core, the human being that racism couldn't ruin, and GOD's son who sought the peaceful calm of the water. David moved away from the colder climate of Rochester, New York, and relocated to his own tropical paradise of Florida to go fishing whenever he felt like it, far away from the cold, cruel world. The soothing water is where his imagination could flourish without any interruption. David Rivera's body will be cremated in the flesh. But the larger-than-life spirit of David Rivera is with us forever, resting in an ocean of infinite peace and tranquility.
