Deborah Cortes Mujicas, 92, of Orlando, departed this life peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2016 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born November 14, 1924 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Juan Cortes and Justina Matos.
Deborah was married to Jenaro Gil Mujicas and they had 7 children. As the Matriarch of the Mojica family, her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She instilled; confidence, integrity and strong family values as she showered them with unconditional love. She was affectionately referred to as mama, negra and Dona Deborah. She enlightened us all with her loving heart, wisdom, and encouraging strong family unity.
Deborah leaves memories to be cherished by her children,Margie Mojica, Gil Mojica, wife Jeannie Mojica, Henry Mojica and Nilda Justiniano, Miriam Mojica, Edwin Mojica, wife Nancy Mojica, Evelyn Mojica Cordero, husband Frank Cordero and Ivonne Mojica; siblings, Restituto Cortes Sr., Lydia Cortes and Samual Cortes; her legacy includes 19 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren and still counting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jenaro Mujicas in 2009; sisters, Lupe Rivera, Isabele Cortes and Emma Cortes; granddaughter, Krystal Mojica.
A Funeral Ceremony will be 10:00 am, Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
