Debra Jean Barnes

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Debra Jean Barnes, 68, of Kissimmee, Florida. She passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at AdventHealth Hospice Care in Altamonte Springs, Florida surrounded by family. She was born in Milton, Florida on July 16, 1955 to James W. and Sheryle A. Scott.

Debby will be remembered for her love of her family and friends, as well as her caring and giving spirit. Her love of family and friends brought joy to the lives of everyone around her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Debby had 29 years of service in law enforcement and was currently employed with Osceola County Board of County Commissioners for the past 14 years as a bonds and dockets specialist.

Debby was predeceased by her son, Michael E. Alig, and her parents James W. Scott and Sheryle Scott Rosier, and brother William J. (Bill) Scott.

Debby is survived by her brothers, Robert (Bobbi) Scott, of Orlando, Florida, and David (Mary) Scott of Ocala, Florida; and her sister Kathy (John) Tye of Melrose, Florida, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions (East Orlando Chapel). Family visitation will precede the service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
