Deedra Dickinson Salmons of Maitland, Florida went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the age of 78. She was born on November 15, 1945, in Winter Park, Florida to Betty (nee Baggett) and Arthur Dickinson. After graduating from Winter Park High School in 1963, she attended Brevard College (Brevard, North Carolina) and Carson Newman University (Jefferson City, Tennessee), where she earned her bachelor of Science Degree in 1967. She went on the earn her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Nova Southeastern University. While attending Brevard College, Deedra met her husband, Randy Salmons, while on a church bus, and the two married on September 9, 1966
She is preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Arthur Dickinson. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Randy Salmons; their sons, Haines Salmons (Melissa) and Dean Salmons (Stacey); her grandchildren Clayton, Nicole, and Carson; her brother, Stanley Dickinson (Patrician); her cousin, Sheila Clarke; numerous extended family members; and many dear friends.
Deedra taught at Dommerich Elementary in Maitland for 23 years until her retirement in 1995. She loved traveling to the mountains with her husband, shopping at Talbot's on Park Avenue, playing cards with her friends, wearing attractive shoes, fellowship with her family, and above all, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Deedra's wonderful life at Aloma Church, 1815 State Road 436, Winter Park FL 32792, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
