Delaney Brooke Barnes

1993 — 2024

ORLANDO

In loving memory of Delaney Brooke Barnes,

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved DeLaney, who left this world far too soon at the age of 30. She was a loving mother, devoted daughter, inseparable sister, cherished granddaughter, and beloved niece. She was also a fierce fighter who, despite the battles she faced, showed us all the true meaning of strength and resilience.

DeLaney was a beacon of light in our lives. Her carefree spirit brought joy to everyone she met. She had a way of embracing life’s moments with a heart full of love and laughter, reminding us all of the beauty in simply being present. Her smile could brighten the darkest of days, and her laugh was a melody that brought warmth to everyone around her.

She faced challenges that many could not imagine, yet she faced them with a courage that left us in awe. Though her struggles tried to dim her spirit, she never stopped fighting. Her determination to overcome them was a testament to the love she had for family, especially for her precious daughter, Daycee.

For Daycee, DeLaney was not just a mother, but a best friend and a guiding light. Everything she did, she did with her daughter in mind, always striving to be the best mother she could be. The bond they shared was unbreakable, filled with endless love, laughter, and tender moments that will forever remain in our hearts.

DeLaney is survived by her beloved daughter, Daycee Alayne Barnes; Daycee’s father, the late Tyler Herington; her mother, Christine McHugh; her father, Vernon Barnes; her step-mother, Kim Howard; her mother-in-love Sherri Kaminski; her father-in-love, Chad Kaminski; her sister, Darbi Desch; her brother-in-law, Matthew Desch; her adored nieces, Audrey and Natalie Desch; her grandmother, Rose McHugh; her late grandfathers, Toby Barnes and Charles McHugh; her late grandmother, Alvina Barnes; her aunts, Kimberly McHugh (godparent), Stacy McHugh, Debbie Augustine, Maureen McHugh, and Kajuana Dorsey; her uncles Charles McHugh (godparent), Matthew McHugh, and Jeffrey McHugh; her cousins, Matthew McHugh, Amanda McHugh, Angelina McHugh, Caitlyn McHugh, and Connor McHugh; and many other cherished family members.

Though her journey was cut short, DeLaney left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the importance of never giving up, no matter how tough the battle. We find solace in knowing that her spirit will continue to live on in her daughter, who carries within her the same strength and love that DeLaney embodied every day. We know she is watching over us-her family, who loved her so deeply-her carefree spirit now free from all earthly burdens, guiding us with the same love and light she shared during her time with us.

As we say goodbye to our dear DeLaney, we are reminded of the preciousness of life and the importance of cherishing every moment with those we love. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, her memory living on in the hearts of those she touched.

Rest in peace, sweet DeLaney. Your battle is over, and you are finally free. We will carry your love with us always.

“I loved her first, I held her first,

And a place in my heart will always be hers.

From the first breath she breathed,

When she first smiled at me,

I know the love of a mama runs deep”

-DeLaney
