Dennis Joseph Proulx

September 11, 1968 — January 4, 2022

Dennis Joseph Proulx was born in Yorktown Heights, NY on September 11th, 1968 and died January 4th, 2022, at home in Orlando, Fl.

Dennis is predeceased by his father Denis "Dan" Proulx. He is survived by his mother, Mary (Griffin) Proulx. Dan and Mary raised 6 children; Patrick, Mary and husband Richard, Terence and wife Theresa, Timothy and wife Britt and Laurie and her fiancé Todd.

Dennis attended Lakeland High School . He was both academically and athletically gifted. He played a variety of sports but found his passion for lacrosse at a young age. While playing on the high school team, he earned the prestigious award of "All American". He went on to play his beloved lacrosse while studying at the University of Virginia. With a Masters in Education and multiple IT certifications, he eventually pulled out the entrepreneur card and successfully started his own business, DataVision Systems, creating and managing databases for major corporate clients.

On December 27th, 2002, Dennis walked out onto a beach and married his best friend, Nancy. With love and much devotion, they blessed us all with 3 incredible children. Dennis Connor is 18, Hayden Amber, 16 and Harrison Parker, 14. All are at home in Orlando, thinking daily of Dennis and missing the dad and husband they loved so much.

A love of sports led Dennis to work on his golf game and take up tennis with Nancy – and all that lacrosse experience meant he was able to share the sport with his children. With his lovely wife by his side, Dennis coached in the community as their kids cycled through lacrosse, football, soccer and basketball and was the best fan in the stands at cheer events and wrestling meets. If Orlando was destiny, it's because he was a Disney-loving adventurer who wanted to make sure his family experienced the magic of all of the theme parks. Dennis was a very compassionate and generous man. He worked with the special needs population utilizing his intelligence and creativity to help improve the lives of the people he served. This compassion was seen often as he went out of his way to help his friends and strangers in need. Dennis always had a deep love for music. From singing with his siblings when he was younger, playing RockBand with his family, playing both the acoustic and electric guitar and even taking piano lessons with his children. He also loved animals, bringing Jader to his marriage, guiding Nylock into his senior years and so many others in between. Dennis never met anyone who didn't become a friend, he had an infectious smile and a laugh that was contagious.

Dennis is so very missed by his family, who want to thank everyone for their love and support. There will be a Celebration of Life from 1 to 3pm on February 6th at Fairwinds Country Club, 14205 E. Colonial Dr., Orlando, Fl. 32826. We look forward to sharing memories and laughter and hope you will join us.
