Diane Bishop Koger, of Orlando, FL passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015.
She was born on September 9, 1953 in Sampson, Alabama to the late Amos and Cora Bishop. Diane was a very active member of the American Legion Auxiliary with a dedicated passion for supporting our military veterans and their families. She served two years as Orlando Memorial Unit 19 Auxiliary President, two years as Department of Florida District 6 Auxiliary President, and was at the time of her death, serving as the Department of Florida Auxiliary Veterans Hospital Representative, Department of Florida District Six Auxiliary Sargent- At-Arms, and as a member of Pine Castle Memorial Unit 286 Auxiliary. She was a former employee of Hammond Electronics, Orlando, Florida, and the Orlando Housing Authority. Her hobbies included a butterfly garden, growing roses, and she loved ocean cruising.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Koger; son, Jason Anderson (Ruth) of San Antonio, Texas; brothers, Gene Bishop of Columbia, Alabama, and John Bishop (Charlotte) of Grants Pass, Oregon; sisters, Margie Boone (Kermit), of Columbia, Alabama, Peggy Wilkerson of Ocala, Florida, and Linda Newland of Orlando, Florida; one granddaughter, Zoe Anderson; several step grandchildren/great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Thursday October 15, 2015 from 11:00am until noon, immediately followed by a memorial and celebration of life service from noon until 1:00pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home (East Orlando Chapel), 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando, FL 32822, with Department of Florida Auxiliary Chaplain Lois Stachelrodt officiating.
