Dinah Dycus-Wallace, 27 of Altamonte Springs passed away on Fri. Sept. 23, 2011. Dinah was born in Chicago on March 14, 1984. She was only 8 months old when we moved to Orlando. From that moment on, the bright sun of Florida had competition…Dinah could light up any room or bring a smile to any face she met.
DINAH WAS THE SPOKE THAT HAD BEEN MISSING IN THE DYCUS FAMILY WHEEL…She gave Jimmy and Jackie the "fall guy" they needed to suffer the consequences for their antics… she helped to create the special "language"—very expressively used—that only she and Jackie truly understood… she gave her Dad another reason to buy flowers, occasion or not… she managed to make her mother laugh when she should have been firm… she gave our next door neighbor a reason to remember how to say, "Get out of that tree right now"… and she coached everyone she met into using their smile muscles. In the wintery season of the past few years in her life, she found her greatest earthly ally by simply saying, "Call my brother, Jimmy."
DINAH LOVED CREATIVE WRITING…Her poems began early with "The Chicken Who Crossed the Road," and "The Secret World Between Dryer and Man," and continued up to September 16th, 2011, and the Narrative Essay for school about her encounter with a glass cage that ended with 200 stitches and a final sentence that reads: "I know that what is on the other side of this world is so much better than anything we can experience in our physical bodies."
DINAH LOVED PEOPLE…almost as much as she loved being happy. Ask anyone who knows her, and someplace in their words will be the words: "she lit up the room," "her smile was infectious," "she was the funniest person I knew," "her humor made me laugh like nothing else," and "I felt loved when Dinah was around."
Dinah is now challenging the angels to be able to keep up with her. She's sending rainbows of promise and invading memories of joy back to those who knew her, and she's wrapping her arms around the neck of Jesus and saying, "I love you so much!"…just like she did with each of us. Dinah is survived by her parents, Pastor Jim Dycus and Barbara Dycus; brother, Jimmy Dycus; sister, Jackie Ritz (Frank); half brother, Scott Dycus; half sisters, Lee and Jackie Carolin; nieces and nephews, Jaimee Dycus, James Dycus, Jr., Joshua Dycus, Arianna Ritz and Frankie Ritz.
