Dolores Castro Devera, age 76, was welcomed by Our Heavenly Father on November 22, 2022. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Known by family and her friends as Dolly and as Lola D to her grandchildren, she was born in San Carlos City, Pangasinan, Philippines.
She was a devoted wife and beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister, and will be missed by so many. She is survived by her loving husband of over 54 years, Roberto Devera; her 3 sons: Roneil Devera (Abigail), Rhodian Devera (Ann), and Rodney Devera (Natalia); her four grandchildren: Randal, Annabelle, Simone, and Nora; and her siblings: Lydia Canilang (Francisco), Rufina Acosta (Renato), Carmelita Sana (Leopoldo-predeceased), Ofelia Bautista (Tiburcio Jr), Virgilio Castro, and Elpidio Castro (Glenna).
She finished college at Pangasinan Institute of Education Arts & Sciences (PIEAS) where she received her Bachelor of Science in Education. She worked as an elementary school teacher before she became a full time homemaker.
She was the most loving, caring, unselfish person who dedicated her life raising three boys and supporting her husband through their many transfers with the U.S. Navy: Pangasinan, Philippines; San Diego, California, USA; Sardinia, Italy; Winter Park, Florida, USA.
Her cooking was second to none. Family gatherings were extra special with her delicious Filipino staples of lumpia, chicken adobo, and pancit.
She was a devout Catholic who raised her family to live by the values of their faith. Dolores showered her children and grandchildren with love and was always there to support them. Dolores was loved by her family and friends. She will be sorely missed.
