Dolores Joan Guillaume Whipple was born in Utica, New York on July 28, 1935. On March 27, 1954, one month after their meeting, she married her soon-to-be life-long soul mate William Whipple. Shortly thereafter, she and her husband were blessed with two beautiful daughters: Deborah Whipple-Schiraldi, born January 7, 1955 and Rebecca Whipple-Watkins, born April 30, 1957.
Joan's hobbies were sewing, knitting, crocheting and crafts. She also enjoyed spending time with her pets, Missy and Shadow, reading romance novels, and watching John Wayne movies. But her real love was her famiuly. The poem below best describes her.
You toiled so hard for those you loved.
You said goodbye to none.
Your spirit flew before we knew,
Your work on earth was done.
We miss you now,
Our hearts are sore,
As time goes by we miss you more.
Your loving smile, your gentle face:
No one can fill your vacant place.
Everyone that met you, entered "home"
And claimed you as their own.
Your love stretched beyond words;
For which we're blessed and thankful.
So gentle, so caring, so giving, so kind
We were privileged to call you "mine".
Your life was love and labor.
Your love for family true.
You did the best for all of us.
We will always remember you.
