Dominick Fiumara

December 22, 1972 — December 19, 2023

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Dominick Fiumara. Dom was a loving father to Justina and Alissa, son to Rosario (Reno) & Grace, brother to Larisa, Enrico, Michael and John. Some of us knew Dominick as a loving son, strong big brother, a caring friend, or a trusted resource who always understood the qualities of a strong Italian family. His values were of family, loyalty, faith, and confidence.

Dominick was born in Queens New York December 22nd 1972 to Rosario and Grace Fiumara. He was the first child of five and took his role as big brother very seriously always watching out for his sister and younger brothers. Not only was Dom the big brother everyone looked up to but he was the chief instigator of brotherly teasing, family pranks, and any mischief he could create. The Fiumara household was one of fun, chaos, and love.

Growing up in an Italian family Dominick would spend many evenings, weekends, and holidays with his extended family. He and his cousin John were inseparable; sharing the same sense of humor and joy in creating the perfect prank.

Dominick graduated, top of his class, and a member of the National Honor society at John Adams High School in Ozone Park NY in 1990, he continued his education at Queens College in NY, Valencia State College in Orlando, FL, and pursued studies at the University of Central Florida. His education helped prepare him and ignited his passion for entrepreneurial endeavors.

This was a season of change in Dom's life, not just transitioning from high school to college but also moving from Howard Beach New York to Orlando, Florida. In the early 90's Reno & Grace had the opportunity to move the family to Orlando. Florida would bring warmer weather, less traffic, and the security of a new location to raise the family. The Fiumara family would come to find they were not alone and would connect with many friends that had made the same journey not just from New York but also from Calabria, Italy.

It was during this time that Dominick met the mother of his daughters Justina and Alissa. Justina was born in 1999 and quickly stole her father's heart. Dominick quickly dedicated himself to providing the best possible home for his quickly growing family. Although he did not realize it at the time securing a position with a local Boar's Head distributer would change his direction in life forever.

Dominick was dedicated, reliable, and committed to being successful at Boar's Head and proving himself. Not just to succeed at work but to provide a better life for his family. The Boar's Head distributor found great promise in Dominick as Dom thought more like a business owner than an employee and quickly promoted Dom to a management position. Dom was motivated by his responsibility to his family.

Time moves quickly and things did not slow down for Dom and soon his family would have a new addition who filled his heart with joy, baby Alissa was born in 2002. Alissa, was all the things a new baby should be, sweet, adorable, and full of hope. Justina accepted her role as the big sister and helped with anything she could, as most big sisters do. It was at this time that Dominick understood a new level of responsibility to his family.

His family quickly realized the benefits of his labor and business acumen through a rapid change in lifestyle. The little family could now enjoy the benefits of a successful business with a little larger home, a new car, and a little more vacation time. Dominick always viewed this as his commitment and dedication to his family, his responsibility.

As in everyone's life, situations change, and Dominick's family status changed. Dominick's daughters were always on his mind and always most important to him.

After this time Dominick had the opportunity to sell his Boar's Head distributorship and chase after his next business adventure. This came in the form of an Italian Restaurant, he might even tell you it was a pizza shop but it was very reminiscent of a restaurant you would find in a quiet neighborhood where the food was excellent, the staff were family, and the owner watched over everything with a sense of pride. Dom had pride but was also humble.

In addition to the restaurant Dominick also invested in real estate, traded in precious metals, and cryptocurrency.

Over the last year Dom was reinventing himself and looking to his next business endeavor. He had the opportunity to move in with Reno & Grace to assist with the upkeep on the house and take care of his family. Not wanting to be idle, Dom accepted a position at a local retailer focusing on inventory management.

Dominick was the type of man you always wanted to be more like; never scared, never afraid to try something new, always re-inventing himself, and always there if you needed him. Dominick you are loved and you will be missed terribly.
