Donald Beck, age 89, of Altamonte Springs, FL passed away peacefully on Monday, March 21, 2022 at his home in Altamonte Springs.
Donald was born on April 27, 1932 in Montclair, NJ, son of the late William F. and Irene S. (Starrett) Beck. Don graduated from East Orange High School, NJ, class of 1950. Don then joined the United States Army, serving during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. After his service, Don married Cecile Gehas on August 26, 1961 in Beloit, WI. Don worked in the precast concrete industry until his retirement from Brooks Products in 1996. He was a long time resident of Longwood, FL.
Don will be remembered for his sense of humor, wit, and love of his family.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Sarah Bernhardt and her husband, William, of Altamonte Springs, FL; two grandchildren, Alexis Bernhardt, and Christopher Bernhardt; a sister-in-law, Jean Beck; and five nephews, Eric Beck, Karl Beck, Les Beck, Jr., William Beck, and Michael Lucas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cecille Beck; two brothers, William S Beck, and Les A. Beck; and a sister-in-law, Jennie Lucas.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – South Seminole Chapel, 335 E. State Road 434, Longwood, 32750.
Visitation with the family will precede the service on Monday from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Apopka, FL.
