Donald Carmon was born, along with his late twin sister Jeannie, on August 4, 1930, in Paragould, Arkansas. They were the children of Dennis and Georgia Carmon.
He was educated in the public schools of Arkansas. At an early age, he moved to St.Louis, Missouri. He enlisted in the US Army and served for three years. He returned to St. Louis and began a life of self-employment.
He married Elaine and to this union was born three children, the late Donna Carmon, Douglas, and Robert Carmon.
He owned and operated numerous businesses including a beauty salon, Termix Pest Control, and a shampoo company. While living in California, he purchased a 14-unit apartment building and linen service with his twin sister. He also had a brief career in movies along with his sister. His most noted interview was with the cast of Gunsmoke.
He returned to St. Louis and purchased two beauty salons, started an airplane rental service, and a pet grooming shop that sold supplies and dogs. Here he met the love of his life, Diane Lebby.
Upon retirement in 1997 he moved to Florida and married Diane. They purchase a home in Deltona, Florida. While in Florida he was involved in various aspects of the community and enjoyed working in his yard. One of his favorite pastimes was The Daytona 500 and other car races. His prized Ford Mustang was one of his treasured possessions. He also enjoyed horse racing.
He departed this life on February 23, 2024, at AdventHealth ER Hospital Care in Ormond Beach, Florida.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife and faithful caregiver, Diane Lebby Carmon, his sons Douglas (Lynn) Carmon, and Robert Carmon, his step-son Johnathan Sweeney, his grandchildren, Paul Carmon, Krista Carmon, Marleea Carmon, Kalee Carmon and Nicole Carmon. Along with his in-laws, Pastors James and Alice L. Hicks, nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
