Donald Joseph Maroncelli, 78, passed away suddenly March 1, 2014 after a brief battle with cancer. Don was born in Troy, NY on May 15, 1935.
A proud US Air Force veteran, Don served in the Korean War. A lifelong entertainer, Don appeared in nightclubs, on stage, television, radio and movies as an actor, comedian, and musician. In Kearney, Nebraska, he was owner operator of Underwater World, a pet store that specialized in aquariums. In later years until his death, Don worked at Universal Studios in Orlando as an emcee at several of the stage shows, a particular favorite of his was Beetlejuice's Graveyard Review. He was most proud of his work as a liaison for the park assisting with Make-A-Wish participants from around the world. Don also appeared in character as Benjamin Franklin at corporate events, stage shows, and several productions of 1776.
Don is preceded in death by daughter, Deedy Cammack (Tony). Survived by daughters Dottie Carangio (Tony) and Deborah K. Maroncelli (Curtis) and sons J B Maroncelli and Jameson "Flash" Maroncelli (Ron). Don has 9 grandchildren and a niece and nephew.
