Don was born on June 8, 1943, in his parent's bedroom in Formoso, Kansas. He died in Orlando, Florida, when he was 79 years old.
His family moved to Payette, Idaho, when Don was just a toddler. He grew up on a farm and enjoyed the farm life so much (except milking) that he became an Agricultural Consultant. Among others, he worked for FMC, US Steel Agri-chem, and Consumer's Cooperative.
Among his hobbies, he loved woodworking and built all sorts of furniture including a desk, large decorative shelves, end tables, wall mounted tables, cabinets for dishes and a porch swing. He also built a gazebo on the hill behind the house which afforded a 180 degree view of the Snake River Valley.
He also loved landscaping and designed the yard which included a fish pond and waterfall.
Don was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ and shared his faith with anyone who would listen. He prayed regularly for people with needs and illnesses. He loved the Lord.
Don is survived by his wife of 60 years, Autumn Young; two sons, Brock Young (Masako) of Orlando, Florida, and Breck (Krista) of Idaho City, Idaho. He boasts 9 grandchildren: Samanda, Brant, Tyler (Kayla), Amanda (Gustavo), Shane (Kathy), Aspen, Jonah, Jake and Cody, plus 6 great grands: Miley, Cayla, Tristan, Ryker, Mason, and Scout.
He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Brent, and his oldest brother, Max.
