Donna F. La Fleur went home on Monday, May 13, 2024, in the afternoon to be with her Lord and Savior. She has joined her husband Nicholas R. La Fleur who went five (5) years early to help prepare a place for her. Donna was a loving wife and a great mother to five (5) amazing children. The oldest passed just after birth and Mom is catching up with her in heaven. Together they are all without pain and enjoying heaven.
Donna began her life in Cicero, Illinois, eventually moving to Grand Rapids, MI for college. Donna met her husband, Nicholas, at college, where they built a life with their family in Lamont, Michigan. Donna became a teacher, and with her husband also owned a restaurant, the Interurban Depot Café, and the Passing Winds farm. In 2010, Donna and Nicholas relocated to Central Florida, where they lived until they went to join their heavenly father.
Donna was and will always be remembered for her amazing smile, joyful laugh, and her story-telling that made many people smile and laugh. People never understood our family after meeting us, as we could laugh so hard and for so long about wonderful stories and crazy antidotes. Donna, our mother, was the center piece of a lot of those stories. Donna loved playing cards with friends and was an amazing person and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her four (4) children: Albert J. La Fleur, Jeffrey A. La Fleur, Martha A. Miller (La Fleur) and Deborah L. La Fleur. She made sure we grew up in a Christian home with love and that we were a reflection of her and our father.
There will be no funeral per her request. In leu of flowers, please make a donation to Marne Lions Club, 1580 Arch St., Marne MI 49435, or P.O.
