Donnie Van Hoose, aged 71, of Orlando, Florida, peacefully passed away on April 25, 2025. He was born on December 30, 1953, in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
Donnie dedicated many years of his life to his work as a Meat Cutter at Winn Dixie and Target before enjoying a well-deserved retirement. He was passionate about sports, particularly football, and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Additionally, Donnie was a devoted NASCAR fan, cheering especially for Carl Larson.
A talented chef, Donnie took great pleasure in honing his cooking skills by watching the Food Network. He was particularly famous for his delicious spaghetti sauce, which was a family favorite. He cherished traveling back to Ohio to connect with his brothers, sisters, children, and grandchildren, earning the fond title of "Grandpa." Family gatherings, especially weenie roasts, brought him immense joy. His grandchildren in Florida lovingly knew him as "Pop Don."
Donnie is survived by his beloved wife, Pauline Van Hoose; his children, Chad Van Hoose, Danielle Van Hoose Payne, and Zach Van Hoose; his step-son, Shawn LaFrance; his sisters, Diane Van Hoose Horsley and Becky Van Hoose Barger; his brother, Michael January; and his 11 adored grandchildren.
The family will hold a visitation for friends on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, East Orlando Chapel. A Celebration of Donnie's Life will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 PM.
