Dora Ann McCarver, age 77, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024, at AdventHealth East Orlando Hospital. She was born on November 18, 1947, in Orlando, FL. She spent her life dedicated to her faith, family, and service to others.
For over twenty years, Dora co-owned Weld-Rite Company, Inc. in Orlando, where her outgoing and outspoken personality left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed her path. She was known not only as a successful businesswoman but also as a nurturing figure who embodied selflessness in every aspect of her life. Her commitment to helping others was evident to all who knew her, as she extended her love beyond her immediate family, embracing everyone with open arms.
Dora took great joy in her family, especially during Christmastime, when she spent countless hours shopping and preparing to make each holiday special. She found her greatest happiness on the beach or fishing, moments often spent surrounded by her loved ones. As a proud Christian woman of strong faith, she devoted her life to living according to the principles of love and kindness.
She leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever resonate within the hearts of her family members. Surviving are her husband, Billy Joe McCarver; her children, Billy W. McCarver and his wife Tracie, Sherry L. Chipman, and Lisa Grissom, along with her fiancé Donnie Willoughby. Dora was also blessed with a large number of grandchildren: Alexander McCarver and his fiancé Brandy, Jordan Shelton and his fiancé Ali King, Collin Sweeney, Alyssa Shelton, Kyle Grissom, Kaylee Grissom, Matthew McCarver, Brandy Willoughby, and Kody Willoughby as well as several great-grandchildren including Madison McCarver, Cayden Shelton, Maci McCarver, John McCarver, and Annsleigh Crawford
In addition to her family, Dora is survived by her special nephew Timothy Crawford and his wife Christina, her brothers James Norvill and Timothy Norvill and their wives Marilyn and Laura, respectively, and her great-niece Shannon Guard and great-nephew TJ Crawford.
Dora is predeceased by her son, Chuck McCarver; her sister, Lana Faye McCarver; her father, James Oliver Norvill; and her mother, Ruth Elizabeth (Campbell) Vandenburg.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Winter Park Chapel, 3806 Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park, FL.
Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Orlando, FL.
