Dorothy Cintron

October 6, 1936 — February 1, 2021

Dorothy Cintron passed away on February 1, 2021. She and her husband Gil, along with their children, were long time Florida residents having moved here in 1979 from West Sayville, NY. Dorothy stayed home to raise her children and then was a wonderful support to her grandchildren. She loved spending time with family and friends, playing bingo, making ceramics, and traveling back to New York to see their extended family. Dorothy had the best sense of humor and laughter that carried her through the tough times in life.

On October 6, 1936 Dorothy was born to a large family with seven siblings in Manhattan, NY. She met Gil Cintron as a child where they grew up together, as their families lived in the same apartment house. Eventually they fell in love and were married July 9, 1957. They started their family and had three sons and one daughter.

Dorothy is survived by the love of her life, Gilbert Cintron, her four children: George Cintron and his wife, Debbi, of New Smyrna Beach, Dennis Cintron and his wife, Stacey, of Taylors, SC, Jeff Cintron and his wife, Carol, of Merritt Island, and Christine Cintron of Oviedo ; five grandchildren: Michael Cintron, Heather Myers, Kasey Cintron, Paige Cintron, and Jason Cintron; one great-grandchild, Mason Myers; four siblings: Thomas Nelson and his wife, Irene, of Lyndhurst, NJ, Joseph Nelson and his wife, Sonia, of Williamstown, NJ, Joanne Brady and her husband, Bobby, of Bristol, CT, and Roseanne Merkis and her husband, Bruce, of Shrub Oak, NY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Josephine (Stuart) Nelson; a brother, George Nelson; and two sisters, Marilyn Lapine, and Albertina Lester.
