Dorothy Matthies

Matthies, Dorothy Dottie,Dorothy Endres-Matthies, 85, of Orlando, Florida went to be with the Lord Sunday May 25, 2014. Dottie was born in Buffalo, New York, January 16, 1929. She moved to Orlando, Florida in 1968 and worked at Sun Trust bank until her retirement. Dorothy loved to travel and had many wonderful adventures. She also loved her family deeply and was an excellent cook so every birthday and holiday was celebrated at "Grammy's" house. Her life was an example to all of us that no matter what the obstacles, we can overcome with hard work and our faith in God. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. Matthies (Bud) and Linda Matthies. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Marie, her son, Edward Joseph, her daughter, Mary Boaz, her son, Scott Andrew, and her son Christien and grandchildren, Scott Andrew Jr., Charity Boaz, Kayla Boaz, Megan Matthies, Michael Riley, Janelle Wicker, and Jacob Boaz and great-grandchild, Hazel Nicole and many nieces and nephews. Visitation Tuesday June 3rd from 10am to 11am at Newcomer Funeral Home 895 Goldenrod Road, Orlando, 32822. Internment at Florida National Cemetery at 1pm Tuesday June 3rd at Bushnell, Florida.
