Dorothy "Dottie" Morrison, 80, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on December 24, 2019. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 27, 1939.
She is preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Morrison; her parents, Charles and Doris Uren; and her birth mother, Dorothy Uren.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Sandra (Randy) Day, BethAnn Morrison, and Roy (Barbara) Morrison, and her honorary son, Randy Brown; her grandchildren, Tina Morrison, Justin Gaul, Julie Gaul, Robert Gagnier, and David Gagnier; her great-grandchildren, Dezirae Cabral, Vivian Cabral, Kelly Gagnier, RJ Gagnier, Jordan Gagnier, and Braelyn Gagnier; her sister, Jackie (Tony) Jackson; her niece and nephews, Ryan (Hillary) Jackson, Jessie (Janice) Jackson, Nathan (Lauren) Jackson, Patrick (Christy) Jackson, Gabrielle (Ryan) Marr, Elizabeth, and Joseph; and her 13 great-nieces and nephews.
Dottie met her husband, LeRoy, while working at Woolworth's in Philadelphia. It was her favorite job, and she continued working for Woolworth's when they relocated to Orlando, and stayed with the company until they closed in 1997. Dottie loved reading, going shopping, and going to church. She was a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan, and never wanted to miss a game.
A visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando Chapel will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with a funeral service immediately following at 11:00 am.
Interment will be at Orlando Memorial Gardens, directed by Newcomer Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Dottie's name to the
Down Syndrome Foundation of Florida or to
St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
