Dorothy Marie Browning Rotramel was a lovely, Christian woman who went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2019 in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
Dorothy was born in St. Charles, Missouri to Mary Veronica Wolken Browning and Elbert Ulysses Browning. She grew up with 2 brothers, Richard (Dick) Browning and Larry Browning, both predeceased.
She attended the Catholic School in St. Charles, Missouri through the 8th grade when she transferred to St. Charles High School to finish and receive her diploma.
She was an active active young woman, and enjoyed a childhood filled with outdoor activities, running through the fields and riding a bike around town.After high school she took some training and then worked for the local judge as a legal secretary.
When WWII ended, she was introduced to Rod Rotramel by her brother Dick, who was a good friend and coworker of Rod's They fell in love and married in 1949, enjoying a long, happy marriage until his death in 2016.
In 1967 she and Rod moved to the Orlando area where he worked for Martin Marietta. Then, they opened a pet shop on Park Avenue in which the entire family worked. A few years later, Rod became a realtor and subsequently started his own real estate company. Dorothy worked alongside him in this venture until they retired and sold the company in the late 1980s.
Dorothy valued her family and marriage above all save for her relationship with the Lord. Rod and Dorothy faithfully attended and served in the church together throughout their long marriage, last serving at Aloma Baptist Church in Winter Park.
Dorothy enjoyed spending time with family, reading, camping, walking and the beach.
She is survived by her two children, Martha Halladay (1956) and Philip Rotramel (1960); 10 grandchildren: Tamara Bliss, David Halladay, Daniel Halladay, Mary Halladay, Austin Dale, Audrianna Kimball, Christian Rotramel, Seth Rotramel, Zachariah Rotramel and Anthony Rotramel; 10 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
Dorothy leaves behind a strong legacy filled with faith, love and devotion. She will be greatly missed but her family rejoices that she is free of pain and rejoicing in Heaven.
Services will be held on June 22 at 10:30 am at Circle Community Church, 2200 Pembrook Dr., Orlando, FL, 32810. She will be interred at the Florida National Cemetery (6502 SW 102nd Ave., Bushnell, FL 33513) with Rod.

Mercy Ships ministry. Dorothy was always touched by this ministry and the help they provide for children and families.
