In the early morning hours of May 26, 2012, a luminous candle was extinguished too early: Douglas Alan Arthur, 31, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away suddenly in his home. Beloved by many, Doug shined his light generously on all around him, and those who were blessed to have known him will always carry that light in memory of a husband who loved his wife deeply and openly, a father who likewise adored and protected his treasured daughter, a son who brought pride to his parents, a brother who embodied filial loyalty and devotion, and a friend who stood always with integrity and an easy-going smile.
Doug is survived by his adoring wife, DeEstle Arthur, his five year old daughter, Isadora Arthur, his beautiful step-daughter Amber Jensen, his cherished mother Kathy Hall, father George Arthur Jr., step-father Eddie "Daddy Rabbit" Hall, his siblings Daniel Arthur, Christina Piccirillo, Jason Hall, and Amanda Hall and many other extended family whom share in the grief of a young life cut tragically short.
We may never have sufficient answers to the questions surrounding his passing, but one word can sum up the questions surrounding his having lived: Love. Douglas, your absence will be felt deeply and by many, and yet will never cease to stand as an example by which all who enter our lives will be measured, so great was your heart, so great your impact on our lives and our world. You are loved.
