Dr Robert Jay Rogers passed away Sunday September 16th . He was born Feb 23rd , 1925 in Richmond, Indiana. The youngest child to James and Mae Rogers of Indiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Leroy, Faye, and Chuck, and his wife of 39 years, SueAnn Simmons Rogers, and his grandson, Tim Tryon.
Upon graduating from high school, "Bob" joined the Navy in 1944, then attended Emmanuel Missionary College in Michigan on the GI bill. There he married and is survived by his first wife Marcille Smith Rickrode and his 4 children; Cynthia Rogers Leech and Mike Rogers from Collegedale, Tennessee, Tom Rogers of Kitty Hawk, NC, and Julie Rogers Ridenour of Detroit, Michigan.
He attended Medical school in Loma Linda Medical College and graduated in 1956. He moved his family to Florida and had his medical practice many years in Melbourne, Florida.
Bob met and married his second wife SueAnn Rogers, formerly from Maine. They have two children Robert Jay Rogers Jr "Chip" of Orlando, Fla, and step-daughter Dana Cook of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida.
Bob is survived by his children, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren,and his mother-in- law Ginny Simmons of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida.
Dr Bob moved his practice to Orlando many years and retired in 2009. He loved his Lord and his family and helped many people throughout his career in medicine. To the many friends and family of Dr Rogers, the family will be having a private ceremony, in lieu of flowers please donate to Hospice Care in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
