Dr. Glen Callarman

May 3, 1943 — March 2, 2024

Dr. William "Bill" Callarman, age 80, passed away March 2, 2024 in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

It's difficult to express in words the impact of the life Bill lived. He had a paramount role at the University of Central Florida, as a professor, mentor, and advocate to many students and athletes. A leader in his church, he had a tremendous impact on the lives of the youth. He was a beacon of light to guide us all on a life well lived. Every day, he was an example of how to live to the fullest, love deeply, forgive without question, offer grace with no limit, and serve selflessly. There's no doubt his legacy will continue for years to come.

Born May 2, 1943 to Cecil Clarence Callarman and Cora May Humphrey.
Preceded by his wife, Mary Helen Ayres Callarman who passed away in 1996.
Bill met Mary Helen at West Texas State University and married in 1965. Upon graduation
from West Texas State they moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he continued his education and
ultimately earned his PhD in Business Management at Arizona State University. After graduation from ASU, he and Mary Helen moved to Indanapolis, Indiana where he was stationed in the United States Army. There, they started a family. In 1972 he was hired by the then Florida Technological University to teach in the business department. He and his family moved to Casselberry, Florida where his career began. Throughout his career he had the occasion to work with many different people and organizations to bring impactful opportunities and changes to the area. Over the years he purposed to create a great life for this family.

Bill had several passions- his family, his church, youth soccer and the University of Central
Florida. In each of these passions he had a tremendous impact on every person he met.

He is survived by his son, Michael of Casselberry, FL, daughter Julia of Myrtle Beach, SC as
well as his granddaughters Kate of Charleston, SC and Mary Quinn of Boone, NC. Also,
siblings, John, Don, Elizabeth (Betsy), Jim and Tom.
