Eddie Stagnolia

July 24, 1955 — March 14, 2015

Eddie "Ed" Dean Stagnolia lost his fight to cancer on March 14, 2015. Ed was born on July 24th, 1955 to Don Shiflet and Tennessee Stagnolia. He will rejoin his siblings Edgar Don "Jr" Shiflet ,Edward Duayne "Dee" Shiflet and Peggy Shiflet Ford at Alder Springs Lake, in the summer of 2015. Eddie leaves behind his father Don Shiflet, brother Patrick Shiflet, son James Stagnolia, daughter Jessica Stagnolia, partner Penny Stagnolia; grandchildren, Taylor Stagnolia, Giovanni Stagnolia-Ortiz, Xavier Stagnolia-Ortiz; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and coworkers.

Eddie Dean was born in the Tennessee hills and had always planned to go home to retire. He was most content sitting outside around the campfire, surrounded by the ones he loved most, enjoying the sound of his own father strumming the guitar and singing a tune. He loved to shoot pool and listen to classic rock-n-roll music. He preferred soup-beans, fried taters and a pork-chop instead of steak. He enjoyed Louis L'Amour westerns, his Tennessee Volunteer football team, win or lose... But, more than anything, he loved his Family. Eddie was honest, devoted, loyal and independent. He was a meticulously organized hard worker who always tried to instill a good work ethic into his children. Ed began his career with thirteen years in dedication to our Country in the U.S. Navy, and the last 27 years with great pride as a cast member with Walt Disney World. Ed was stubborn, a fighter, all the way to the end. And, even during the most dismal of times, when you would ask him how he was doing, he would always respond the same way... He would say that he was "finer than a frog hair split four ways." Eddie enriched the lives of those he touched and will live on in each of us. He will be greatly missed by many.

"There have always been hard times. There have always been wars and troubles-- famine, disease, and such-like-- and some folks are born with money, some with none. In the end it is up to the man what he becomes, and none of those other things matter." Louis L'Amour
