Edith Maria Baez, of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2017. She was born on September 12, 1931 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to the late Rogelio Melendez and Elisa Colon Pabon. She was the second eldest of nine children.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Francisco Baez on December 27, 1978.
Edith will be remembered as the matriarch of her family that blessed us with an infinite amount of love and patience.
She leaves memories to be cherished by her daughters, Edith Ruiz, and Alexis Baez; siblings, Carmen Melendez, Raimondo Melendez, Jose E. Colon, and Vincent Robles; grandchildren, Alec Trujillo-Baez, Elijah Trujillo-Baez, Joel Ruiz, Anais Ruiz, Miguel Resto and Gabriel Resto; and her great-grandchildren, Naveya and Aliana Resto. Her kind and precious spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, South Seminole Chapel, 335 E SR 434, Longwood, FL 32750 with a Celebration of Edith's Life to begin at 7PM.
Interment will take place at 9:30AM on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, Florida 32754.
