BENORE, EDWARD "ED" BRENT, 79, of Longwood, FL died peacefully December 22, 2021, surrounded by family. Ed was born December 31, 1941, in Flint, Michigan, and was the son of the late Edsel and Mary Benore. Ed lived in Michigan through his high school years and entered the Air Force, where he served at the McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, KS. There he met his first wife and later moved back to Michigan, followed by Indiana, where he started his family and building career. After developing and building custom homes in Indiana, he later moved to Central Florida where he began working for Cardinal Industries, becoming a Senior Vice President developing motels, apartments, and townhomes across the southeastern United States. Throughout the years, he continued building custom homes and worked on commercial and church projects as well as started smaller businesses in landscaping, carpet cleaning, and crime and trauma decontamination. In his retirement years, he worked and volunteered in various ministries, including the Good News Jail Ministry, The Longwood Church of God, Promise Church and most recently served as the lead Chaplain at the Longwood Police Department for the past eight years.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Mary Benore, along with his children Brent Benore of Casselberry, Lynette Earley of Orlando, Kevin Benore of Clermont, and Michael Hauser of Longwood; his grandchildren: Amy Kirsch, Michael Hauser, Christian Roderick, Chase and Carson Earley, David Hauser, Rachel Benore, Katelyn, Natalie and Kimberli Benore, and his great grandchildren: Jackson and Marlee Kirsch, and Micah Hauser. He also is survived by his two sisters, Gwen Allen of Longwood and Brenda Sammis of Fort Myers.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions in Longwood, 335 E. State Road 434, Longwood, Florida 32750.
The Funeral Service will begin 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Longwood, 891 E. State Road 434, Longwood, Florida 32750.
Interment will follow at Oaklawn Park Cemetery, 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, Florida 32771. A lunch reception will follow the interment back at First Baptist Church of Longwood, 891 E. State Road 434, Longwood, Florida 32750.
