Lt. Col. (Ret.) Edward (Buzz) Wilson DuRant III, 70, of Longwood, FL, passed away on October 16, 2017 after a long battle with PSP. The funeral service will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
Edward was born in Quantico, VA on June 28, 1947. He earned his undergraduate degree from St. Andrew's University and received a MPA from East Carolina University.
Edward was married to Patricia Grill on August 15, 1981; they were married 36 years.
Edward spent the majority of his career as a faithful servant to our country as an officer in the US Army Medical Service Corps. He completed numerous marathons and triathlons and enjoyed golfing and traveling the world. In his retirement, he served as a volunteer for Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs.
Edward is survived by his wife Patricia, grandchildren Ethan and Ellie DuRant and Julianna and John Roberts, his sister Margaret DuRant of Ann Arbor, MI, and children Edward DuRant (Jessica) of Cape Coral and Anna Roberts (Andrew) of Acton, MA and other family and friends including Levi the wonder dog.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Col. Edward Wilson DuRant II and Peggy Vanness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Hospice of the Comforter, Altamonte Springs or Cure PSP.
