Edwin Acevedo, age 45, of Longwood, Florida passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) due to a fall and complications by his Parkinson's Disease.
Edwin is survived by his two young boys who he loved deeply, Giovanni Acevedo (age 7) and Zyel Acevedo (age 5). He also leaves behind both of his parents, Paco and Doris Acevedo, sister and brother-in-law, Sean and Gisela Holley, and brother and sister-in-law, Frankie and Linda Acevedo.
Edwin graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor's degree and was a big fan of the FSU Seminoles football program. Edwin loved to watch these games every Saturday alongside his siblings in full Seminoles gear and whenever he watched the games with his two young boys, he would make sure that he taught them the ever-popular Seminoles War Chant at every touchdown. He also was a big fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Miami Heat which were his hometown teams from where in grew up in South Florida. Edwin was also very loyal to his employer Truist (formerly BB&T Bank) where he worked for 18 years.
Edwin loved playing flag football, hanging out with friends and family (often playing dominoes), listening to music and dancing all styles of music (and the boy could dance). He had a laugh and a smile that simply brighten up the room and brought joy to anyone that crossed his path. Edwin was quite simply put…. A ray of light that will shine in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, from 6pm to 8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, South Seminole Chapel in Longwood, FL.
